Blue Cross Colorado
Colorado Health Insurance delivers more than just qoutes.
Blue Cross Colorado services are provided by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Colorado, or BCBSCO. Blue Cross Colorado provides health insurance and medical coverage to over 450,000 Colorado residents. Like many health insurance providers, Blue Cross Colorado provides health insurance plans with the flexibility Colorado residents need from their health insurance plans. In addition to these flexible health insurance plans, Blue Cross Colorado also offers optional enrollment in dental health care coverage plans and life insurance plans.
Blue Cross Colorado offers many health insurance plans for individuals and families residing in Colorado. Three of the most popular plans are Colorado BluePreffered PPO, Tonik 1500/3000/5000 and the Colorado HSA-qualified High Deductible PPO. These plans offer different health insurance coverage and premiums depending on individual and family needs, depending on copay needs, emergency and intensive care coverage, and supplemental health care coverage such as vision correction coverage and outpatient care coverage.
The Colorado BluePreferred PPO, as the name suggests, is a health insurance plan offered through a Preferred Provider Organization, or PPO. Copays for office visits are as low as $25 per visit, with no deductible. Furthermore, there is a $15 co-pay for generic prescription drugs, but up to $40 or more for brand-name drugs. One again, no deductible applies.
Additional co-pay costs include $75 for various screening tests under this health insurance plan, and a 20% coinsurance outpatient payment. Coinsurance payments can be as low as 20% for child health care services. Exact copay and coinsurance payments vary depending on deductible amounts of $500, $1,000, $2,000 and $3,000.
The Tonik 1500/3000/5000 health insurance plan is named for Tonik, the health insurance provider that works with Blue Cross Colorado to provide this health insurance plan, and the deductible options that apply to this plan. The Tonik 1500/3000/5000 plan offers copays as low as $20 per visit to the doctor’s office for up to four visits a year and can pay up to $100 per use of ambulance services and another $100 per emergency room visit. Generic prescription drug copays are as low as $10 regardless of which deductible coverage you choose. Vision care coverage includes up to $50 payment per eye exam, or you can sign up for additional coverage for up to $100 per eye exam.
The Colorado HSA-Qualified High-Deductible PPO plan is similar to the Colorado BluePreferred PPO plan, but offers distinct benefits and advantages. For example, many routine services, such as doctor’s office visits and child health care, are completely paid for.
